Molasses is used as an additive in roughage and concentrated feed. The sugar in the molasses improves the taste of feed, increases its nutritional properties and digestibility. There is no fat or fiber in molasses. The water content ranges from 20 to 25%. Molasses contains a lot of potassium, sodium and calcium. The total amount of minerals (ash) is 7-10%. The stream is rich in choline (vitamin B4). The digestible protein content is about 6%. Sweet water is the main feed for balancing the sugar-protein ratio in the feed rations of ruminants. The optimal rate for feeding molasses to adult cattle is about 1 kg per day. Before feeding, the molasses is diluted with water 3-4 times and coarse and concentrated feed is flavored with this solution. The energetic value of molasses is 0.83 feed units.
